With 16 years of experience as a detection dog trainer, Mario Lavigne and his PK-9 detection dogs bring clients unparalleled service, and peace of mind.

Since 2005 PK-9 has worked in collaboration with the Sûreté du Québec, other police services, forensic engineering firms and various insurance companies. All have relied on the PK-9 detection dogs to identify accelerant on fire scenes.

The PK-9 efficiency record is unequaled. Two dogs are most often used on detection jobs, bringing the detection ability rate to over 96%. Presently, each PK-9 dog has more then 1400 hours of detection experience.

Always working on offering expanded services, PK-9 is developing new substances to detect. As an example, Chubby and Cole are presently training as the first Canadian peanut detector dogs, for those with severe allergy. The use of detection dogs has often saved lives at disaster sites, and evidence was recently released that dogs can be trained to detect the early stages of breast cancer, lung cancer and prostate cancer. Dogs – man’s best friend!
